We arrived to Montréal late last night and were greeted by a long time friend of the Riley/ Mission family Chris B who showed us around town and treated us to a nice meal (definitely one for the books).
Early morning wake up call and Timmy Ho’s was on the mind but unfortunately the weather got the best of us and we headed straight for the Bauer office in St. J. Being my first time to the office I didn’t know what to expect…I was under the impression it was a small operation with 20 or so employees eating pastries and speaking nothing but French (boy was I wrong).
The building is impressive to say the least and after the hour-long walk/ meet and greet I now know 40+ people whom one I cant remember by first name. Garnet Alexander (Garnnnn to us) is the magic behind the Mission skates you kiddie so love and enjoy, acted as temp tour guide for this morning adventure. From the R&D area to the PRO LAB this place rivals most nuclear missile silo’s (restricted access to most but we had a hall pass for the day).
In closing Day 1 went amazing and it is only half over…If I wasn’t already convinced that Bauer Hockey makes the best products available today (after meeting everyone and seeing the amount of work and pride that each individual takes in their job) I am now.
More to come……..
