When players hear the name Rafael Rodriguez there are only 2 responses…love to play with the guy/ hate to play against him.  One of the most controlled players in the game today “Raf” is the backbone of some of the most elite squads assembled to date. 

You’ll most likely see him shine his brightest under high-pressure situations (where he excels).  “He is a PP/ PK/ 3-1 specialist who places himself in the right position at all times and rarely makes mistakes.  When it’s down to the wire and keeping that one goal lead or putting the pressure on with one goal down Raf is the guy you want on the rink” – Sean Riley

Rafael has an extensive hockey career to date (especially for being a young guy). Started off in the USHL with the RoughRiders and quickly moved his way up to the NAHL where he called Santa Fe his home for 3 seasons while playing for the Roadrunners. After his stint in JR’s he was noticed by RMU (Robert Morris University) where he was offered an athletic scholarship for hockey.  Locally you will now see Raf playing for Mission Axiom in the MLRH (where he scored the game tie’r and game winner in OT to solidify a perfect season for the “M” and helped them bank $10,000.00) on top of coaching youth programs out of KHS Ice Hockey Arena.

Every summer Raf suits up for the flying “M” (Mission Pro Team – Axiom/ D.1 Habs) at events such as TORHs/ NARCh and StateWars.  You will most likely see his name amongst the plethora of Roller All-Stars this year playing for his country in the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) Worlds Tournament as he did so last year when they brought home gold.
