THE MISSION "BIG CONTEST" SWEEPSTAKES

A day in the life of Joey D

On a usual week day I wake up around 10 am and head out to get some breakfast. Here in Paris there's not much of a choice for breakfast, mostly bagels and other kinds of bread with chocolate. After I eat I usually go for a nice long walk around Paris, I like to check out all the sights and the landmarks. After a few hours I grab some lunch, usually pasta or pizza, and go back to my apartment. After I eat lunch I usually watch a movie and take a nap before training. At about 715 I head to training and skate from 8 till 10. Usually at training we just warm up for about 10-20 minutes then scrimmage for the rest of the time. After training I grab some dinner and then hit the hay!

My favorite day is Saturday, game day! If the games at home I usually wake up at 8 am and by 830 or 9 we take off to Rethel (the city I play in). It's about a 2 hour drive. So by 11 we are at the rink for the morning skate. At this skate we practice a lot of power plays and penalty kills since most of the team doesn't skate together throughout the week, for example I train in Paris all week then go to Rethel for the games. After the skate we eat a team lunch at the rink which the club prepares for us. Usually a meat, pasta, and vegetables. After lunch most the team goes to take a nap at the dorms right next to the rink. Then at 630 pm we're all at the rink to prepare for the game. The games are usually at 8. At the games there's usually about 200-400 people there, and tickets cost 5 euro, which is about 7 dollars. After the game there is a big room In the rink where the fans go to have a couple drinks and the kids can get autographs from the players. After hanging out for awhile we head back to Paris for the night.

One of the coolest things that has happen to me since I've been here was, during our last game which was the second game of the semi final, they were selling raffle tickets to win a Joey Doran jersey. So after the game I came back on the rink and pulled the ticket for the drawing and presented the jersey to the little girl that won. It was pretty awesome.
